Sword and Shield logo?
When i first got my car i noticed on the right side of the trunk next to where it says "3.2 CL" there was a little sword and shield design painted on or drawn with a gold metallic sharpie or something. I asked the guy if the previous owner had drawn it or if it was the logo of another acura dealership, but he had no answer for me.
Anyway, today at the lake where i lifeguard my friend mike was showing me his newly-acquired TL-S and i noticed he had the same exact logo right next to his type-S emblem on his trunk; he had no idea what it meant either.
I was wondering if any of you here know what im talking about and could maybe shed some light on it.
TIA guys,
Ryan

yeah. we need pics to know what you're talking about. but as far as i know, there isn't a symbol for the CL or Acura for that matter, of the likes of your description.

Either that or it's a gang/club logo... Sort like buying a car w/ an acura-cl.com sticker on it...

Is your car pinstriped? On a couple of Benzes of family members, they had hand painted pinstripes and had special logos on the corners of the trunk done by the pinstriping artist.
But, since I haven't seen any pinstriped new TL's in my area, I'm assuming its a dealership logo

pinstriping falls under bad taste, imo. if not, name one car that looks great with it.

BTW: He was using rubbing compound.
Probably not the best way to remove a pinstripe but apparently it works. I'd imagine a body/paint shop would have a way to remove it without repainting the car.

hahahah For sure man!!! what kinda pin striping shit is that? LOL at least its very small.
Is it clearcoated over? hmm probably is huh.. if its not clearcoated over and you can feel the edge you can remove very carefully by using a new razor blade. otherwise, not worth wet sanding till it comes off then buffing using 3m glaze.

yeah i'd probably whip out the bat in my trunk if i saw him doing that to my car
but too late i guess
i dont think the signature is clearcoated, but i still would be a little unsure to take it off with a blade if it could mean f**king up my finish worse than a little gold thing
but too late i guess

Seeing the quality of that signature, I'm amazed he gets work. Painted pin stripes are not easy to take off, but its possible.
No you wouldn't
