Switched My Friend To The Acura Side

My friend drove a 2dr auto accord and i convinced him to sell it and get a cl. after months of persuasion he dumped it in and got a 03' cl-s. he wants to do somthin with his exhuast. i told him to get a tanabe catback like i did but he doesn't wanna spend that much money. does anyone have any suggestions that will get maximum sound for a minimal amount of money i told him to get mufflers or an axleback would anyone recomend taking out the resonator?? (oh ya is there any way to get more power without getting an entire exhaust system???)

The CL's exhaust is very efficent from the factory. if you dont get quality parts then you risk LOSING power by going aftermarket. if he wants some nice sound then i would suggest getting those magnaflows everyone here on the forum is running and leaving the rest up towards the header stock...

like i said..tampering with the stock exhaust like that prob. isnt the best idea. and i think it would prob sound pretty shitty IMO.

just search "magnaflow" and im sure you will find some pictures with them installed on almost every color CL.

single wall vs. double wall??? and the magnaflow 14832 is 18 inches from end to tip and if i'm correct the muffler on a stock cl-s is 23 inches from end to tip how will this fit without welding and fabing

23 inches prob includes the whole flange...you have to have a shop weld on a flange to the magnaflows if you want to be able to remove them later...otherwise you can have them just welded right on for relatively cheap.

try those on for size...i would stay away from the "race" series unless he really does plan on building an all out race car, or its going to sound like total ass.

But it seems like there is a budget.

I say tell him to save some cash for a couple months and just go stock for now until he can afford CT's.

race series mufflers will probably be too noisy. you want the car to sound good, not like it was cursed by APC.
