Sorry but he is right. If you have a problem maybe you need to go find some books and read about how the engine works internally.

I can't believe how far that stick is up your ass. Couldn't take a little ford owner jab. Would you like a hug instead?
Now you have resorted to name calling... very intelligent.
Keep putting 87 in a Type S. We will see what happens down the road and we will also see who is the ignorant one here.

Again 87 octane will not hurt the car. It will last the same distance as one with 93 octane with less performance. Like I said, most of the TL-Ss are driven with 87 octane because the dealer does not state to put 91+ in there, and it says no where except in the book use 91+ only.

Why did they take that off on the 03's? Mine does not say it by the guage, but the tank door does. (02 TL-S) I would run at least mid grade in anything anyway. Well, almost anything, the loaners get the cheap shit if I have to fill them up. That is 85 octane here...lol you know what they say about rentals...

Hey tuleman,

If you read the thread again, you'll see that MY MOM has a TL (not Type-S) that SHE uses low octane fuel. Not me.

And like I also said, she's got 70,000 trouble-free miles on it so far.

Go get yourself a book on engines.

Direct from the Acura website in regards to the CLS 6sp

Fuel Economy
Recommended Fuel - premium unleaded; 91 octane*
EPA estimated mileage, city/highway:**
CL Type S - 19/29
CL Type S M/T - 19/28
*Gasoline with a octane number lower than 91 may be used, with reduced performance.
** Mileage figures shown for comparison only. Your mileage may vary. California figures are the same. Factory estimates; EPA figures not available at time of printing.

See, another CLASSIC example of two-faced killer changing up again...

First, he states that people will end up with devastating results by using low octane fuel, then when he realizes that there's absolutely no merit to that argument, he switches to basically calling people cheap for buying the low octane stuff.

You truly are pathetic.

I put 93 in my cars. I am not the one having a big deal about it. I am just saying that 87 will work for someone more strapped for money.

You gotta remember, even if we have a 30k car, or a 50k car, means we are paying more for it and usually that means we are poorer. Now if you had a KIA, then yeah you will have the funds available for race gas anytime! :P

.20 cents * 14 gallon tank =$2.80 just put the in the better gas. Is 2.80 going to hurt your wallet that bad? If so sell your car and get a civic.
