Sweet!! AEM in and it is awesome

Well the rain held out yesterday and I finally got my AEM cold air in (w/o bypass) and I am in love. The sound is down right mean above 5000 RPM. I nstall was pretty much a since. Didn't even really have to follow the instructions much. It is pretty straight forward. I installed the Blue pipe on my silver car and it really stands out under that hood. I recommend getting one for all of you guys out there going back and forth on whether or not to get one. It is easy and worth it. The car is already noticably faster at highr RPM.

$185 and 2 hours well spent

Thanks guys!

Don't wait another minute to hear that roar from the AEM, it's awesome and you won't be sorry.

the cold air box isn't going to give you much more HP if any and it is going to be about 125 more than the AEM setup

I love the damn thing the car feels much faster than stock now

I dont have an intake or anything but I think you should invest in a Bypass valve. If it rains...you could be in some trouble. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nah I would have to drive the entire front end into a puddle for the car to ingest water. Never Happen. I had one on a much lower car for 3 years in my last car and not 1 problem

So you guys don't think the COld Air Box will be any better. I want to get a CAI. but I just don't want it to kill the low end torque. Does it even help the low end at all?

i dont think it helps any "end" all that much. many people believe it gives them a boost in the high end, but its mainly just a sound change, which leads them to believe as such. but your engine is breathing better, and thats never a bad thing... so why not?

Personally I just put the AEM in my car without the bypass and I can feel a difference. I mean it gives 8HP to the wheels so I don't see how you couldn't feel it at some point. The car pulls a lot harder at 4k and up. I think it does help and there is NO low end loss at all.

Impressive Article Made by Tuan, Hondavision.com..

"Since 1996, AEM has been the undisputed gold standard at the top. The latest innovation to this aging design is the bypass valve for people who get hydrolock anxiety when it rains. There has been one recall already related to a fastening problem with the bypass valve and the valve got sucked into the TB causing engine damage. A new clip has cured this problem. It is noteworthy that the bypass valve lowers power by 2-3whp across the entire rpm range but you can sleep at night. "

This is off topic, but if you want to know anything about intake, highly super higly recommand,

HEY! I don't have my bypass, either. Anyone has problem after a carwash? B/C I washed my car yesterday and this morning, when I drove my car up to the freeway, all of sudden, my car felt little stumble and lack of power for a moment. So, I kept it low (under 3K rpm) all the way to my work. Is this sign of hydrolock? Just for precaution, I think I will get the bypass.

bypass? fohgedaboudid

the bypass is a gimick. ive been using AEM CAI's since '97, before they became popular and cost $145 (ahh...those were the days)
At any rate...i live in NYC and drove it rain, snow, and sleet . One car was a 94civic lowered with H&R race springs (2 3/4" drop) and i never ever had a problem. My friend has an AEM CAI his on his accord since he bought it in 99 and never had a problem. He even has the intake exposed because of his body kit.
unless ur going to drive into a lake or a deep puddle, dont worry...and even then, that bypass wont help :P
