Sways installed by Dad and Son
I realize this topic has been covered before BUT ... I wanted to provide my quick $.02 for anyone else considering installing the Comptech sways themselves.
The entire job took my 15 yr old son and me about 2 hours. We did the rears first (it was easier logistically to start there). The bracket clamps used 12 mm sockets and the end links used a 14mm box end allen wrench. As Jens stated, the link bolts are on pretty good. I would recommend a shot of WD-40 or the like before you start. Everything loosened up okay. Getting the damn bar out was like one of those funky magic puzzles ... trying to figure out how to twist the bar and work it through the exhaust system. Took about 5 minutes before we "saw the light" and we had the new one installed quickly.
The fronts were a tad more difficult because of the location of the link bolts. Used the allen wrench as required and put the 14mm box end on 'em. They were tight at first but a couple of turns (along with the penetrating oil) and they were off ... the bracket bolts were next (14mm) and they were off.
To work the front bar out, we took off the left front wheel and had to raise the car a bit more than our jack stands provided (located on the jack points behind the front wheels). Another puzzle on removal but again the code was broken by "spinning the thing around" and the new one was just the reverse. Tightened everything up and went for a test drive.
First impressions were as others have described ... the steering feels "lighter" and the car exhibits little or no body lean. Straight ahead feels little different from stock. All in all, a fairly easy job for anyone who has held a box end wrench before.

Now how exactly did you torque the end links with the allen wrench in the way?? Those of us that have a torque wrench that works with sockets need to know this. I just used my highly calibrated "wrist-elbow" twist tool.
Maybe Jens has a 14 mm Boxend torque wrench, Jens! Jens! How did you do this??? What's the secret Acura only method??
