Sway Install - PISSED $$$
I just need to vent
I took my car to Rapco to get sways installed - Originally I was quoted $80-100, I thought - OK, Thats not bad for my sway install...
So I drop my car off - go to the gym and when I come back I notice that my car is still up on the lift - The guy says "Hey Mike, I wanna show you something"
Right then I said "Ahhh Shit!" to myself because I've heard it before....
The asshole who was taking the stabilizer links off broke 3 out of 4 after stripping the bolts with his Allen wrench...
So I had to buy new stabilization links ($27.85/link X 4) - Anyone else have this happen to them? Maybe they were just bound to strip, but I was thinking that the guy used the wrong tool in getting the things off causing them to strip - Anyone???
So, $280 later I am enjoying my sways very much!!!
The place "FORGOT" to put my stock sways back in my trunk - now I gotta get back there and get em

Why is it that they are making you pay for their screw-up? That wouldn't stand well with me. They broke it, they pay for it....as sarlacc23 said...it is as simple as that.

I think I may write to their District Manager - My question really is - Could it be natural that they stripped or is it the case that if a screw strips - It is always the person removing the screws fault?

Hey atleast they aren't charging you storage fee for holding YOUR sways. Why did you forget them shit if I were them Ill throw those pieces of metal right out. Dude relax I had a horrible day to so don't feel so bad and by the way.....why did you pay for their mistake? I would definetly have broken something in their office so they have to pay for it .

I now drive an accord....
it doesn't matter if it was their fault or not if something happened to your car while it was in their shop they should pay for it. That is what they have insurance for.

Sweet as Gold
Alan key in middle and turn w/ a wrench , he probably just went to impact the nuts off . Seen it a bunch of times . I work for a dealer , they should pay , no matter what!!!!!!

Never broke the stabalizer links but when I was tightening the bolts for the brackets I must have over torqued and the damn bolt broke in half. My wrench must be fucked up because I had it set to 29lbs I think, whatever the instructions said. I had to drill the damn thing back out which fucked up the threads. It was a simple fix but its hard to do things when your lying on the ground w/out all the tools and hardware. So I took it to the dealer who charged me $37.50. Was suppose to come out to be $75 which was more than I couldve had them installed for. I dont know if its just me, but I really dont feel it that much.

damn kid, seriously tho... i woulda bitched my ass off and gotten them to pay for their own fuck up.
pay for your own screw up, not someone elses. if they were "prone" to stripping then they would have told u from the start.
they probably said they'll try to pull a fast one and u and maybe you wont bitch. i guess they were right

THEY SHOULD PAY!!!!!!!!
If you take your car to a shop and they run another car into the
front fender, you gonna go buy a new fender with money out of
your pocket???? HELL NO!!!!! You need to talk to someone with
some serious authority!!!! Make them give you back the money
for the parts you bought!!!! AND NO CHARGE FOR INSTALLING the
parts they broke either!!!!
Here is a link that peiqinglong made of the install of my sways!!!
YOUR INSTALLER WAS CARELESS, maybe even NEGLIGENT!!!
It is so easy to do!! I hope the link helps you with how the
should be installed!! It has some GOOD pics too!!!

wait...let me get this straight..you bring your car in, they broke it and you pay for their mistakes? What if they break your radio, broke your HID lights, poked couple of holes in your leather seats, you pay for those too? So you DID pay for their mistakes and now you're pissed cuz you paid or cuz you were being stupid?
