Suspension sucks

I think I blew it...I put in Eibach pro-kit springs and now the ride is awful.

It is too bumpy and I feel like when going over even small holes or stuff, I don't have good control.

So, I am going to get the orig springs put back in. My questions are:

1. Should I get Koni Yellow or other shocks and have them put in at the same time?

2. With no lowering springs will I still be able to put on 18" rims?

Thanks.

You should have put new shocks on with the springs. I have the pro-kit with tokico shocks on both my CL's and the ride is awesome. Sure the ride is stiffer, but if you want that 'rock the boat' feel, just put your stock springs and shocks back on. No reason to get new shocks if your going to use your old springs.

FYI, lowering springs are supposed to ride a little firmer. They also reduce body roll. People forget that lowering springs are a performance modification that just so happens to improve to looks (IMO), not just an asthetic modification.

konis last forever and have adjustable firmness. I have been convinced that they are work the price. IMO you should have put the Konis on with the lowered springs.
No problem putting 18" rims with stock springs and shocks or stock springs and Konis. You won't rub at all!
BTW you can lower your ride height a bit with just the Konis set on the lower perch. Drop will be 9/16 to 1 inch.
Another good arguement for buying the Konis.

ummmm..... first off, the harsh ride is because of firm ride, which is because of stiffer shocks, which is because of better performance... you say you have no control?! you should have more control than eve, you have the true feel for the road!!!

anyway, if you like stock thats kool too! but if you go back to stock, do not change your shocks! taht will kill your ride to!!! you need to get schooling on suspension and what effects it has...

ONLY: change your shocks with a 1"+ drop, if you like stock ride and are placing back stock springs... keep stock shocks.. aftermarket shocks will be rougher a ride than aftermarket springs!!!

also... if you strictly want a drop for an asthetic improvment.... CUT your SPRINGS in half... you will have the lowered racked look and still have a bouncy soft ride!!!!

You shouldn't use your stock shocks with any performance springs (except maybe Comptech). I also have the Prokit with Tokico Adjust. and the ride is great.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have the pro-kit with kyb agx shocks and the ride is great (considering I am riding on 215/45/17 tires, which makes more of an impact on ride quality). When I set the shocks to their softest settings I feel like I'm riding in a cadillac, when I stiffen them the ride becomes more responsive and harsher. The springs themselves are not that stiff. If you get adjustable shocks along with them you can play with the ride quality as much as you want and adjust to your liking.

Also, if you are so sensitive to ride quality, why are you getting 18s? That will make your ride MUCH worse than the springs would. The tires absorb a lot of the bumps and with 18s your tires will be damn small.
