the worst gas station incident I've seen is someone light a cigarette approximately 2 or 3ft from the nozzle...

When I just got out of high school I got a job at a Jiffy Lube (BTW dont ever take your car to a quick lube place) and one of my coworkers liked to toss his cigarettes into the bucket in the pit. That bucket had fuel and oil in it. The first few times it scared the crap out of me. Then he took some fuel, poured it on the ground, and put a lit cigarette in it. The fuel didnt ignite

But the match/lighter probably would ignite it.

You need a constant flame...my pyrotechnics have taught me that (Mythbusters confirmed it)

We had a bit of fun on my camping trip... a little something-something-premium-something-gasoline-something to make the fire last that itty-bitty bit longer in the freezing (4*c) nights of the California coast...

It ain't insurance until you get screwed...

Just went to my Insurance Corp. to get the claim finalized and they said that it had a collision claim on the driver side front in January, which they tried to pin on me, even though I bought it in March .

After showing the proof of purchase, they finally let up however they are only covering the hood since the bumper is "unrelated damage from a previous claim".

Oh well, $300 instead of $800...

So a semi update... and a shitty car review (the review, not the car)

I took the CL to a body shop today (finally... spent too long playing games/being lazy).

I got a 2002 Mercedes C240 as a loaner but I find it lacking in comparison to our Acura CL's. The driver information and cluster is very nice and is something Acura should have really done (nice to see range, both trip meters, digital speed, etc...) but the mirrors are god awful and the power is lacking. In terms of the lacking power, I did not get a chance to pop the hood to look at the engine so it might be a 4cyl which would explain the reason for its low power.

On the plus side, I did NOT get a Civic or a Corolla as is customary around here for courtesy cars (I know the owners of the shop since they are family friends).

I am also getting the bumper semi fixed for $100, and by that I mean that they are:
- Repairing the broken tabs on both bumper ends
- Installing a bumper retainer on the driver side (didn't have one when I bought it)
- Fixing whatever else needs doing...

TL;DR Version:

IM DRIVING A MERC C240 UNTIL MONDAY YAAAAAAAAY!

168hp vs 260hp. I can see why it might feel slow.

Went to check on the car yesterday since I was in the area, not ready until 12 today...

On my way home I saw this:

FART-CAN LEVEL BFG9000XYZDRAGONCANNON. Must have added like 5 horsepower and about 120dB.

Well the Benz is a 'courtesy car' and when a 'courtesy car' takes Premium Fuel, the person using a 'courtesy car' uses it only to get from the body shop to home. They then use their moms '08 Civic the rest of the time because the price of gas/insurance is TOO DAMN HIGH!

I'm taking the benz back today and getting the CL, then promptly cancelling insurance and driving the Civic...

It is, but such is life... I might use whatever I make within the next two full weeks of work to pay for insurance/gas/parking at school during the rainy/snowy months to not hate life too, too much. That is granted that the CL does not sell and I lower my insurance to the absolute lowest possible...

Oh yea, got the CL back, cannot tell that the hood was ever damaged/replaced, the paint matching between the hood and bumper/fender/a & b pillars is perfect. They were even nice enough to not charge me for the bumper fixing so I dodged a $100+ bullet there
