Surf racks???

OK, when I get my CL 6MT, I already know I'll have to rent a car to go skiing, since it can't accomodate chains. So... now I'm thinking about surfing...

Any surf racks fit the car? I don't want permanent racks that I have to drive around with all the time--just some that I can pop on quickly when surf's up. Right now I use these things that are tubular foam pads with long webbed straps that run through them; you run the straps through the windows, connect 'em and cinch it tight inside the car. Two of those, one front, one rear, and the surfboard sits on the pads and gets strapped down to each. It's good enough to get to the local beach, but it's a pain for longer trips because it vibrates like mad at higher speeds.

Besides the bad vibrations, the pads get wax on them from the surfboard, and end up getting in on the car roof (since you can't always keep the pads oriented in the same position as the last time you put it on). Worse, I don't think the CL rear window opens at all, does it?

The 3-series BMWs have these cool rack mounts built into the roof. Nothing like that on the CL.

Anyone know what I can do about this? I'd hate to have to keep another car around just to go surfing a mile and a half away.

Thanks! Found the website and I'm checking it out... Nice to know you can put racks on these type of cars (the surf shop guys didn't give me much hope).
