So I was thinking, are there aftermarket products available for the 3.5 liter engine that is in the FX35? This is the same engine as most of Nissans/Infiniti's cars?

Anyways, the 7K difference in price between the FX 35 and FX 45 is awfully hard to get past. If I installed a supercharger or turbocharger in the FX 35, it would easily blow away the V8 since it is only 35hp less.

What is pissing me off is that I live in an area with over 3 million people and there is only ONE Infinity dealership within a 60 miles radius.

If it's not out yet, It will be out soon I am sure. There will be plenty of performance upgrades to the 3.5L VQ engines soon.

BTW, I raced a dealer driving an FX35 about a month back in Stamford, CT. Raced the guy up to ~60 or so. He was only about a car back. The FX35 can definitely hold it's own. I am guessing ~7.2 0-60

Believe it or not, there isnt much out for that engine yet!!
My bro has a G35 Sedan, and the only thing he can buy right now is an intake and an axle back exhaust. There are few things more for the G35 Coupe and the Z, but no SC or turbo's yet. I think GReddy or HKS had a twin turbo Z at Sema this year, but it was not even close to being ready for street sale. If you get that ride, which is SWEEEET ride BTW, you are gonna have to wait a while for any serious aftermarket support. My brother is STILL waiting!!!

Seriously, why don't you just take a drive or just call around (strike a deal on the phone and the only trip you'll have to make is going to pick it up)......hell, I got the Viper from a dealer in Nebraska (had it shipped).

most dealers out here wont dare quote you a price over the phone. what they'll tell you is the sticker price + premium and the directions to their dealership. Oh and i almost forgot... their name.
ashburner, does sacto = sac? if so, then why dont you spend a day in the bay area and visit all of 'em out here. i know of atleast 5 dealerships in the area (30 miles or so) so you could go door-to-door looking for the right price.

and also, you could try low balling the salesman over the phone. just tell 'em that infiniti of blah blah quoted you $XXXXX.XX but they're too far for your business and would like for them to match the price. good luck.

There is not much aftermarket for the VQ 3.5 engine yet. Trust me, I called and called and called. Pathfinder/QX4 has exhaust, hi-flow intake and NGK plugs. That's about it. One dude on the qx4 forums has a magnaflow 2 1/2 mufflers with brullen tips. Headers will be out soon, I called greddy and stillen and they said about late summer fall, there should be tons of aftermarket out there. Rennetech has a twin turbo setup for the z. It should fit other models too. Just not tested. Good Luck finding mods right now. IF you do, give me a holla!

Cool guys, thanks for the reply... I'm surprised there isn't much out there yet but I'm positive there will be a bunch of stuff. Silver, good Idea about visiting the Bay Area, that seems to be the best option.

the $7000 price difference may not justify the variance in horsepower, but you have to remember, there are a lot of standard luxery items that the FX45 has over the FX35.

I remember seeing someone post a price sheet, and if you had up all the options (ie: leather, AWD, sunroof, etc) the price difference isn't that much.

chikai, The FX 45 has the premium package and the sport package standard. It also has AWD standard. This is a $3900 addition on the FX35 and it will still be $6000 less than the FX45.
