let me interject here some info I picked up off ERIC the other day:.. I do not mean to go off topic, but Brad is mentioning heat.
He claimed he disconnected the coolant lines go to the throttle body and he noticed his blower is ICE COLD.... it used to be hot, I never noticed mine and I did not try since I do not have my car here yet.

The throttle body coolant, (wich is hot), bypass is a popular mod with the LS-1 group, and I know Steve has done this also. I was reluctant as I heard third, or fourth hand, a story of a throttle stuck open due to frost, with this mod. I'm just as reluctant to believe the storys validity.

Steve will chime in here I'm sure, but as I understand it, the forced induction generates heat, and heat promotes the onset of spark knock. The more boost you run the more heat you generate, so you should retard the timing acordingly. As you retard the timing, you are taking away potential performance, so pull timing, but no more then necessary. If you are running an intercooler you don't have to retard the timing as much because the intake air is cooled. Lower compression ratio also lowers the temps in the combustion chamber, and the forged internals will hold up better to the spark knock episodes if, and when, they do happen. Retarding the timing will almost always lower the performance, but the gains from the added boost outweigh the losses form the pulled timing.
I'm pretty sure both first boosted CLS guys then AV6 will 'scream in joy' when IC will be done, right Steve?

hey guys great progressoh brad i havent had my throttle body stick even when it was 9degrees outside.i just bypassed the coolant line to keep some heat away from the blower.of course there is no increase in hp but its nice to pop the hood and lay your hands on a cold tb and blower
