Comptech is working on one for an Accord. Unfortunately it's not a high priority for them or they would be devoting more man power to the project. Mikeb@comptech said maybe by Sept they'd have something. I believe that as much as I believe that AEM will release the CAI RSN.
Promises....promises.
What gets me is that Comptech built a SC for the S2000 first. Come on guys!! A car with a 2 year lifecycle gets a SC b4 the Accords/TLs/CLs????

Thats alot of money for a preformance mod. I am not sure if I could justify it to myself unless I was making some crazy money.

It's not only the cost of the SC but everyone needs to take the tranny in acct as well. The stock tranny wasn't built to support a SC.

I'm not a car buff... and I'm not sure I understand this. Why isn't the stock tranny sufficient for a SC? ... ?
Thanks

Is this the same for Solara's? I don't think that TRD made the supercharger until after the Solara was released. I thought that the super charger was a complete install kit? No tranny work?

Also their centrifugal supercharger only netted a pretty lackluster 50 peak hp. (for 3-4 grand?!?!) Granted The TRD Solara does 0-60 on the order of 5.8 sec, the car is faster, but it hasnt changed the nature of the vehicle, nor made it a street monster, like 3-4 grand worth of power mods ought to.

Also, I know of an Accord Tranny that's taken about 220-230 hp at the wheels and is still running fine. And I would say the accord tranny is substantially weaker than ours. Go on HA and ask em...

all I know is that my tranny makes some pretty scary shudders when getting off and back on the gas in 4th or 5th gear at fast highway speeds...It may just be the TC locking and releasing but it certainly feels weird, not like anything I have felt my car do b4...

I installed the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) on my 99 Tacoma. Gave a 70 HP increase!! As long as it was installed by a Toy dealer, on a new vehicle, the factory drive train warranty (5 yr & 50 or 60K miles) remained in effect. I have had no transmission troubles and don't see why I should. The Tacoma is heavier than most cars, plus has 4 wheel drive, so should more stress on tranny with extra power(less wheelspin). Any auto tranny that is designed to go >100k miles(read all Jap & German cars) should be able to withstand an extra 100+ HP

In fact, the automatic transaxle seems to be the weak point for many previous Honda/Acura (and Toyota as well). We just hope that these old issues have been resolved, but no one has really pushed the power limits to determine the weakness, Yet.
