Sunlight Sensor

What's the sunlight sensor for? we don't have auto lights and it can't be for a rain sensor or nething... useless?

The sunlight sensor is for the automatic HVAC system.

Climate Control is all I can think of. Although I think there is another sensor somewhere in the cabin that senses the interior cabin temp.
