Well, practical throws out the S2000 and 350Z (unless you think a 2 seater is practical).

You didn't say if you wanted a coupe or sedan or 4 cly or V6 so there are quite a few that fit the bill.

G35, BMW 325 (or used 330), TSX, new TL (in the Fall) etc. etc.

edmunds.com has a decent car "selector". Just plug in the price range or body style, and you'll get a list of your options.

If I had to buy a car today, for me, in the sports-luxury catagory I'd buy a G35C or used CLS 6spd. If it was a sportscar, it'll be a 350Z, used C5 vette or a used porsche 911 (993 series).

 

thanks to everyone that has replied. all the mentioned cars are great choices, just so many options out there right now. although i'm looking at the a4 quattro (either 1.8 or 3.0) or 5 series. but everytime i look at my car and compare with everything else on the road, i know i made the right decision three years ago. untimately, i'd like to keep my cl as a joy ride car/project and get something cheaper and more practical for work. i hope everyone has enjoyed their cl as much as i have.

 

I dont know your style, but you could also get the Lancer Evolution 8 or Subura WRX Sti. Or the RX-8.

 

35K I'd be all over a 350Z or a G35...

 

Avoid Audi... they have a bunch of problems lately.... go japanese or BMW

 

yea go with BMW definitely go to bmwfilms.com and see if those short film doesnt convince you to buy one. my dad watched those movies and he ended up buying a 540i 6 speed. Dont know why the hell im still stuck with a 1st gen 2.3 CL auto!!!!
