Yes, I'm a bit biased, but . . .
S-03s RULE!
Worth EVERY penny. Great dry traction and excellent wet traction. Driving in the wet is no sweat with the S-03s.
Dunlop SP9000s are much better than the stock crap tires as well, but I have SP9000s and S-03s, and the S-03s are much grippier tires that handle wet better. But S-03s are NOT for snow, so I slap on the SP9000s in the winter.
I think the S-03s are Y-rated tires, and the SP9000s are V-rated.
Good luck with your tire selection!

The SP 9000's are not 4 season tires, They are a 3 season "summer" tire. Also if you use the stock rims, be carfull with the Dunlops. They are really picky about rim width. I have Toyo T1S tires in 245-45-17, & all is good.

Very good points. SP9000s aren't really "winter" tires. They do have much better traction on snow than OEM, however. In Denver, the roads get plowed most of the time, but I still wouldn't dare drive S-03s in wintery conditions.
The SP9000s are "picky" on rim width. I slapped on the OEM rims with OEM tire-size specs, and it is a tight fit, but it does fit. I cannot even put a finger between the SP9000 and the control arm. Haven't had any rubbing problems with the SP9000s, though.

You've got to be kidding. SP9000s are like driving on slicks in the snow. I wouldn't ever drive on them in the snow. Incredible in the rain, but not in the snow.

I had Sumitomo HTR+, 235/45/17 put on my CLS just two days ago. Got a good price at TireRack.

I haven't really stressed them, yet, but so far so good. With the stock tires, I would sometimes get a chirp going from 3rd to 4th WOT. This doesn't happen anymore. I've done a little aggressive cornering, and they feel really good. We'll have to wait and see how they do in inclement weather.

235/45/17 is a snug fit on the stock 7" rims, but they do fit. TireRack called me and asked, "Was I sure?" and I told them that I was, based on the number of folks on this forum that use that size.

I got just over 40k miles on my stock tires, by the way.

Which tire is the quietest?

I hate all the road noise the stock tires make...It kills my stereo.
