Sucking/Vacuum sound right after car is turned off...

This has only started to happen in the last month or so. When the car is turned off, right after the motor completely stops, I hear a very loud 'sucking' or 'whooshing' sound for about two seconds. It's always just 2 seconds. Sounds like some type of vacuum pressure sound. Doesn't matter if A/C has been used or not. I have an '03 CL-S with the CT Icebox installed. Thanks everyone !!!

It's not a CAI, it's a IceBox..

Sounds like a commercial..

From the threads that I have read ----
of the dozens of questions on these boards about a sucking and or whistling sound, each of those people recently put on a CAI.

I porbably had that same problem, I was told by my dealer it was from the dual mass flyhweel, it's heavy and when you turn your car off the thing is still spining and then it shuts off, that's what they told me, try holding down your clutch and turn off. see if that helps...

I've had that noise ever since I've installed the icebox. Happens every single time I turn off the car. Maybe you just haven't noticed it until now?

I hear a similar sound when I shut down my car. I heard before with just the CT intake and now it's a little loader with CT S/C and intake. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I have had the same sound since the car was new without the Icebox. Same sound exists today after installing the Icebox. The Icebox had no effect on this sound whatsoever.

My car does the same thing and I don't have a CAI installed. It started about a month ago or, at least, that's when I started noticing it.

Did your CL already come with an aftermarket intake? I definitely didn't have that pronounced a sucking sound when I was stock.

You probably just haven't noticed it until now. Just about all types of air intake systems produce that noise when you turn off the engine.

These engines have 10:1 compression. Your hearing the blow by that occurs when one of the pistons is on the compression stroke. Normal.

The same thing happens in my car and I do not have a CAI installed. Although, I have the K&N drop-in.

Ditto - mine is much more noticeable with the K&N filter in, although it's also noticeable stock.
