Successful Megan install but… *Pics inside*

Got the Megan headers installed, fitment was perfect, no touching the oil pan or anything, now we know the new batch of Megan’s fit perfectly. Gains are excellent, feels and sounds like a different car, breathtaking when in WOT.
The only thing is that when I accelerate, I hear some cricket type of sound, is this normal? I had a mechanic check it out, he told me that it's resonance, that there is no leak anywhere and that it's fine but that little sound is bothering, especially when driving by narrow street or parked cars I can hear the echo of that damn cricket sound.
Experts, please advise, give me feedback on this...

Its possible its just resonance. The flex pipes may need to break in a little. Haven't heard it before in any of the cars with headers I've been in, but they all had comptechs.

Looks good though Wait a day or two until it fully adjusts, then you can really tell the difference. Where'd you get them installed?

If your talking about that noise at lower rpm then ya its resonance. i dont think theres anything you can do about this, i have the same problems with my obx headers. i just learned to get used to it

see my thread...im having the same problem...megan said it might be a defective flex pipe. mines going back on warranty https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169030 the other thing you can try is to wrap the flex area that its coming from in exhaust wrap, or just cut out that section of flex and get a straight pipe welded in.

BTW i posted a video of the sound at the bottom

see thats the thing though...the noise we are talkin about isnt just there at low RPM its always there and it just gets more high pitched and louder the higher the rpms are

Dammit, I really don't want to have to deal with crap now, giving it the benefit of the doubt and waiting till they break in hopefully it will quiet down a bit. After inspecting it today for a few hours I came to a conclusion that it is resonance. I will take it back to the local shop to get the bolts re-tightened since it's recommended after about a week with them on and the gaskets start to expand because of the heat while I am at it I will carefully listen to where it's coming from.
Thanks for all of your helpful advice fellas, still any other thoughts guys?

well dude i have had mine on for a week now ( i installed them last saturday) and its not any better. in fact it might be worse. im 100% positive that the sound is comin from like the front flex area. cause its not solid there so the sound can get out. let me know if yours is having the same problem. i hope you got yours from a registered seller cause if not then your warranty is gonna be no good megan racing rep told me that it SHOULDNT be making any resonance so they told me to send mine back to the seller or have the seller send me a new set and then send the defective ones back to them in the same box that i got the new ones in and they hope that its just a defective flex pipe....and if that doesnt work then ill prolly resort to wrapping the area with turbo manifold wrap or exhaust wrap really thick and tight to deaden the sound or just cut the section out. let me know if you find anything out. ill do the same for you good luck bro
