struts & springs

with 196,000 I think I need struts. Do I need to get new springs also? I'm looking for better handling without a harsh ride.

unless they're rusted or cracked I think you're fine to just replace the struts. You could opt for something like the Eibach Pro System Plus which is springs, struts and upgraded front and rear sway bars. This would really improve the handling of the car, but it does lower the car fyi. I'm not sure if you'd be okay with lowering but it really helps handling and visual appearance in my opinion.

Check out the vendor section on this site. They have deals on most things for our cars. Contact XLR8 Performance or HeelToe Automotive and they'll help you out.

The CL series does not have struts... they are a double wishbone setup in front with shocks and multi link in the rear with shocks. Acura sells the complete assembly for between $2-300 each. Struts are a load bearing member of the suspension, shocks are not.
