That's pretty sweet. I used to like those cars... it's a shame Pontiac butchered them. They are ugly as sin now....

very impressive. more than just a few thousand in mods though. a lot of time and effort went in to getting that car to be that quick.

The SHP 3800-4000 stall converter really woke the car up. It allows the car to launch with a manageable 10 pounds of boost and quickly climb to the 23 pounds that the 3.4 pulley provides.
Holy shiznit! Guy ran a 1.57 60' in a fwd car! That being said, it is still a Pontiac. I say this because two weeks ago at the track, I got beat by a 2003 GP that ran a 12.910 at 103mph but he blew his tranny at the end of the strip on his first run. I made 14 passes--even on my Acura tranny which I'd take any day over a GP no matter how fast it was!

I was at E-town a few weeks ago for the the SLP event.

They had probably 50+ GTP's there. Most were running mid 13's to mid 12's... Pretty sick, but sound like total ass when running down the track

Also, I think it's retarted when they take the headlight off. Does it really help that much?

The stock Eaton roots-type blower was removed in leiu of a centrifugal SC. The blower kit alone is around $4,500.

There's a cat at the track up here in NH who has run 11s, I believe, in a GTP...does sweet-ass FWD burnouts. He might have hit low-12s, but I thought he was 11s.

nice but then that's not really streetable GTP......props for the time....big accomplishment no doubt but there is a def * on that......

streetable in the sense the street setup would run the same time.

Holy shit,...this guy lives right around here somewhere. I'll have to keep an eye out for an older black two door GP.
