streched leather

Well, dealer refused to replace my streched leather on my driver's seat. They said its part of normal tear and wear... yeah right, in 3 years? My mom's 96 maxima has better leather.
Oh well, I am not surprised anymore.

same thing happened to my leather...in less than 3 years....leather starting strectching and cracking....took it to dealer and they replaced bottom portion of the seat....they also ended up scatching my steering wheel and i made them replace that too and my rotors and brake pads for the shimmying....it was a tough battle w/them...the kept tellin me it was wear/tear and kept sayin that i had 49k miles, but who cares...the car is less than 3 years old...i finally convinced them to do it.....dealerships are shady.

My dealer did that too, they had to pull off the dash to "fix" (read: cut) the AC vent when the switching mechanism broke.

It makes me nervous to argue with the dealership, once they decided its normal tear and wear its useless to say anything.

Mine started stretching in less than a year. Within a 3 to 4 month the leather was pretty strethced out....

My dealer said the same thing. It happens to all of them and its normal...

Almost all other car comanies won't replace pads or repair rotors past 12000 miles or 1 year. Fair or unfair?? It's out of your pocket!!! Acura is actually doing more than they should for some of us!!!
Acura was rated #3 in customer satisfaction by JD POWERS BTY.

It's not Acura. It's the Acura dealers. They need to be regulated. In fact all dealers from all car compinies need to. How can one say yes, & others say no for the same work, or charge different prices. It's good old america I guess.

I'd try another dealer before giving up. Your in NJ try http://www.parkaveacura.com/
They have the best sevice department, & aren't afraid to work on modded cars.

Currently I have 30K miles, but the leather started to become loose at around 20-25K miles ( 2 years of ownership ).
I'd say its a pretty bad time interval for things to become normal tear and wear. And I weight 170lb @6ft, so there is no way its my ass.

Did they also refuse to replace it?
I should complain, but its probably useless... unless I go to another dealership, they aknowledge that leather is streched, but say its a "part of normal wear". fucking BS, its a crapy leather they put... thats why

I kinda like Acura's hands-off approach. You get dealers who genuinely want to please their customers to do good work, and you have asshole dealerships who get screwed becuase they suck. Good ol' competition.

Of course, people are lazy, so they continue to go to whatever is closest and ignore the service quality they get.

I bought my car from a local Acura dealer ( 3miles from my home ) because it was close. So now I have to sho[ arround and go to places like PAA (80 miles away). I should not have to do it, there should be the same level of quality if it says "Acura dealer". Otherwise it should not say "Acura".
