Strange encounter w/ a man

So Sunday evening, I went to the grocery store to drop off a movie. I pulled up near the entrance, put my hazard lights on, and parked to let my passenger out. Approximately two minutes went by and a man going into the grocery store keeps looking at my car; I'm thinking hey, this guy is jocking my car. But no! he pulls out a little notepad and jots down my license plate number. I was like wtf. So I parked my car in a designated spot, went inside to return the movie and wait for him to come outside so I can ask wtf was going on. I mean, I know I wasn't supposed to park infront of an entrance, but I was just letting a passenger off and another car pulled up right behind me and did it too. I see people doing it all the time. It wasn't a busy time nor I was obstructing traffic neither or blocking handicap ramps. So the guy comes back out with his groceries and I walk up to him and ask him, did you write down my plates? And he replies in a smart ass way, "no, I would never do that!" I know he did though. By then, I already lost my temper but kept my mouth shut and walked about 10 ft away from his back bumper and wrote down his license plate numbers and walked back to my car with a full on staredown between me and him.

What do you think he was trying to accomplish? Ratting to the cops that I was parked illegally with no evidence to prove it in the police report?

I swear, people just piss me off sometimes. I recommend all of you to write down the license plates of whoever writes down yours.

lol don't even trip.

even if he went to file a citizen's complaint to the police, it would be ages before they get to a low priority complaint such as this and given a lot of the police department's diminishing budget, you're not going to take any heat.

more likely than not, the guy was just fucking around with you or as you said ... just being a weird guy.

see the thing is, the asshole was like in his late 40s or early 50s. When he replied with the smart ass comment, I softly said, ok you motherf..ker. I would normally use what I recently saw on UFC to somebody who just likes to bust balls with me. Well, if I get a citation for some stupid shit, I'm probably going to take him to court, hire a decent attorney, win the case, and sue him for any damages and legal fees he caused me. Tell my local news station what a wonderful story I have and give him all the hell he wants. With that, he'll learn his lesson not to budge his big nose trying to be a hero and shit. I mean yeah, you see somebody getting raped, car being jacked, keyed, mugged, of course you do something, but hassle a 20 something year old in a mid-luxury car trying to take care of business? F You!! if your scared go to church.

Sorry for my french. I ran out of mayo

Why didn't you just park in a parking spot to start with? Are you somehow special that the rules don't apply to you, or are you just lazy?

true, i f you dropped your passenger off, you should have just parked after then pick her/him up near the entrance.

i don't like how he lied to your face after u asked, but nothing will happen. don't trip... i rather have people write my plates then have them key my car.

Definatly the funniest/best response I've ever seen. I hate people who do stuff like that...what do they think they're doing, civic duty? I guess we'll just have to start going into those stupid things called "parking spots".

What a great story, you should like make this into a movie, with all the action, tempers flaring, parking lot stare downs, 20 something yr olds and mid-luxury cars - this would be a box office hit!!! just playing with ya - he coulda been casing the vehicle for theft, or something tho

Its just some jealous A-hole, that can't believe a 20yr old has a nicer car than he ever thought about owning. If he gets you fined then take him to court and cost him a huge amount of $.

Trying to get a head start I see, do you know for sure that you will get a CL? Do you have your license? A permit atleast?

Not in a asshole way, but I don't know how you find this forum helpful if you don't have a CL or a even a car. When I was 15, I chased after senior girls so I could go eat off campus for lunch at school bro. You in a CL forum w/out a CL, you epitomize Acura's slogan, "Advance".

Curbside dropoff is when you drive away after the passenger gets out of the car. Sitting there for a couple of minutes after they get out is just being an asshole.

Yeah I'm positive I'm getting a CL, and this forum has been very helpful in researching the car. I am very into these cars, and have been for a few years. I have my permit, and you can't leave school campus where I go.

so I'm the asshole here? My passenger wasn't ready to be dropped of my car, it was 2 f'ing minutes. I was courteous to have my hazard lights on and keep my eyes open to see if I was blocking traffic. so you never pulled along side of a curb to drop someone off? let me guess it took you guys less than 10 seconds cause you had it all planned out before you got there right? get off my thread, you ain't helping shit here.

Good for you man, Just learn how to drive stick so you can get a 6 speed. You don't wanna deal with the auto's transmission problems and the thought of when it might break down. Try not to race, take care of your car (as in recommended stuff like fluid changes), the CL for a first car should be real nice and classy. Oh yeah, try not to get one so close to 100k because you have change the plugs and maybe do a timing belt job which will cost ya. Good Luck!

maybe he thought u stole it..........i know once i was driving with my windows down in my parents tl, blasting the bose system hhahah, and i pull up beside a cop...turn down the music and try not to look at him...of courseeeee he pulled me over. Asked for license and registration and i was like..."what did i do", he said something like "im not profiling, but the car u're driving, your age, and the music u were playing made me suspicious" then he just gave me my stuff back and walked to his car and drove off...i was like..what the hell.

yup, it was just a random song that was on the radio....it was really hot outside so i had my windows down, what pissed me off was that he just walks away and doesnt even say anything, i should have been like "THANK YOU SIR HAVE A NICE DAY". He was probably mall security before he became a cop..those guys are the worst.

There won't be a stick (dad's rules), but I'm going to try to get one within the recall and try to get a low milage one. I'm certainly not going to race it, and I will keep up with the maintanence, being sure to use synthetic oil and only use 91 or higher octane fuel.

why you busting his chops man? I wish I was on here and did research before I bought my CL, then I would have been more aware. I didnt know about the bad trannys, the recall, ect. this is a very informational forum, learn all you can before you buy the car and there wont be any "surprises".

$7500 - $15000 for an Acura CLS
$600 bucks for auto insurance
$600 - $1000 - Taxes and Registeration

Going to sleep at night realizing you just blew a nice wad of cash on something that will be worth less every day ----------- PRICELESS

Well, I suppose there is all that "FUN" if you're the fun kinda person.

LOL
