Stop it Already

Is it just me or can we not enjoy our cars as they are. It seems as if people are never happy, the paint chips, paints got dimples, rims scratch easy(learn how to drive), rattles in my car, not a manual, I want a BMW, bla bla bla! havent you people ever heard the saying," the grass is always greener on the other side" I bet money that if you bought another car you would be complaining about the same worthless shit that means absolutly nothing. Be thankful for what you have. Im only 19, so im so excited to have this car. Just be thakful, because when you bash these cars it makes me feel bad about my car, when its a great car. If you have a problem, take it up with the dealer.

hey wildcat,
it's a forum. there's going to be good and there's going to be bad. we're not here to kiss each other's ass about what a great car we have, but to express our opinions and what not. i'm pretty sure most of us are happy with our purchase, but just like everything else, it doesn't always goes smoothly. that's why we have these forums to help each other troubleshoot.

Strange you should mention this topic. It is not what I was thinking about exactly.

However, I was driving up the coast and up to Ojai this Sunday, and my Wife and I traded driving (got 30 MPG while driving at at high speeds and low [even did a few full power runs up some fwy ramps]).

I said, "This car is great, I wonder if I really need all of this extra stuff, it is really nice." We were having a great time, the car was fun, quiet, problem free, very fast, handles great. She wanted to drive a bit and is a little bit scared of the max power. But, she just wanted to stay glued in the seat. She said, "Eric, this is so nice, I really think you got a great car."

She likes here 95 Altima, but she would take a TLS in a millisecond.

So, I even bitch about the little stuff, but all-in-all, this is a really nice car.

Every car has its problems, and every make has its lemons. So, it is nice to help compare notes, etc. But I don't think it makes me think any less about the great value of this car.

(just my opinion)

Of course it goes it far sometimes. But that's the Internet. I remember someone complained that the pen/pad thingy in the CL-P didn't fit right.

Believe it or not, these are the very same complaints we deal with day in and day out. You just have to realize that these are really good vehicles and if these small matters are the worst we have, its a good thing. the key is to be understanding and try to help- no matter if its the 10,000 time you've heard the same complaint. I even had a customer complain that our paint wasn't any good because every time he just scraped his garage door or shrubs, it would get scratched. After about 30 years of experience, you learn how to handle these circumstances. This open forum is a great place for idea exchange and help. Its good for people to vent and to even find out that they are not different than anybody else. Don't feel upset- its human nature to complain- it feels good!

every one buys a car and has some complaints about them, i mean shit, my dad traded in his 740 for a new s500 and he absolutely HATES it; he's counting the days for his lease to be up (then he's getting a q45). who would of thought you could hate a 80,000$ car that supposubly is perfect. The seats suck, the AC sucks, and numerous other things. Needless to say, once you get something there are always little things you would like to change, because you don't see the imperfections till you have it.

AMEN!! The guys on the BMW board are, right now, complaining about

Transmission
Electrical
HVAC.....

The list goes on. If all we b!tch about is the sh!tty cupholders and that the sport shift isn't as quick as it could be, it's a very good day.

I love the car....it's all of you that I hate!

BTW, last week I took my '79 Mercedes to work to get it inspected and came home to declare, "I really like my new car."

Dammit, wayneg, when I brush rough things with my car, I expect the paint not to chip. Sure, the metal will get scratched, but the PAINT should remain perfect!

(What morons! )

We'll be reading about his "scratched rims" one of these days. I must say that I am more cautious these days but if you are not very careful, you WILL scratch a rim. There are so many narrow driveways with vertical bricks for side markers that I cringe everytime I go to a bank!

Maybe this has something to do about my post? Anyways, I hope I didn't come across as complaining about the car. I was complaining about American craftsmanship and lack of pride that American autoworkers take in their work. That's all. I think if we speak loud enough and voice our opinions, maybe, just maybe, the manufactures will get wind of our complaints and make adjustments on future production lines. Isn't that a reasonable thought?

My old bmw had $600 repair jobs like every few months, I'm eternally grateful that I have this car even though the BMW name is by far the best in the world and Acura can't even compete! Just kidding...had you there didn't I? I just read that a lot from other forums...

But this is what makes our car great and so appealing to various people. Like the car the way it is? Great!
Want some better cornering? Get sways.
Want it lower? Get springs.
Want a bit of high end power? Get headers.

In all of these cases, we are enhancing, not fixing something broken like so many other brands!
