Stock CL-S 6 vs. Boxter -S
I've been to the drags several times, but this was my first real race on the streets. I was leaving a local car show at dusk and I pull up to an intersection next to a newer boxter S. There were two dudes in it with the top down and I wasn't thinking they would try and run me. I was with my GF and I didn't know what she would think so I hadn't planed on running.
The light goes green and I stay in first through the intersection right next to the boxter w/o letting him get ahead. As we exit the intersection, he floors it and I floor it and bang 2nd with tire squeal and I'm at his rear bumper. I shift to third at probably 7200 again, and I'm at his door, watching the road and watching the tach and I'm at 7000 in 3rd ~80+ mph, I shift to 4th at redline and his front bumper is at my driver door and he continues to loose ground until he's at my back bumper and he shuts it down and I brake hard at around 95 and slow to about 40 where he catches up and I give him the thumbs up.
I would like to race the boxter again to know for sure if it was the CL-S or the Boxters driver that allowed me to win. Anyway, a win is a win.
My only "engine mods" are a removed resonator, and the Mugen cooling mods.

chances are you beat the driver, not the car. however, they are pretty close and if you shift faster than the other guy that should be enough. ive kept up with an m5 and should of lost, but oh well! nice run and you did pull on him!
btw, unless this was a newer boxsters, it runs 13.9 in 1/4
i ran a 250 hp convertible one with a crappy driver and had trouble keeping up, and i had auto w/ i/h/cpulley and upgraded tires!

It was a sweet victory, one because my car is debadged so he probably didn't know what it was and two, my license plate says CL L8TR
I'm sure if the car was well driven, I would of lost. I would of also liked to race him from a dig, instead of a roll.

hmm...funny I also ran not against but with a boxster S that was weaving through traffic the other day. I knew that as soon as he found a whole he would take off. I tailed him until we finally did find a hole. From 80-110, it was basically even, no ground lost or gained. I'm assuming this is our sweet spot then?
