Stock Air Box Question....

I was cleaning my basement today and i came across my stock air intake system and i began to think......what would happen if you put the stock system back in without the resinator(spelling) thing??? would the check engine light come on or would it just work like a cold air box but not as good????

no, the check engine light will not come on.

a few weeks before i got my AEM CAI , i had taken off the resonator on the stock air box, and it made it sound pretty cool. a deeper sound, but still doenst compare to the AEM

What does the resonator look like? I'm thinking about taking mine out. Oh yeah, what are the draw backs? I thought all the resonator did was muffle the sound. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
