Which is the stickest tire?

I am having problem controlling wheels spin on a stand still launch. I need help on choosing the next set of tires. So, I want to know which street legal tire excluding cheater slicks, is the stickest tires anyone have used. I am currently on 235/40/18 Yokohama ES100. I have used Faulken FK-451 and P7000SS in the passed.

To be honest, the stickier the tire the more stone chips and crap those sticky tires will pick up and throw all over your rocker panels & body skirting.

2nd set I put about 7K miles on them, & sold them. They didn't look worn.

I've heard from many people and reviews that bridgestone S03's are so sticky its scary sometimes. and in the rain it feels like your driving on dry ground.

I had 235/45/17 SO3's on the stock wheels b/f I went with the 225/35/19 Spec 2's. The SO3's let you corner fast enough to scare the hell out of you. They also start giving you this little "whine" when you're getting close to the edge of grip. Very predictable. I've never had T1S's, but I've heard great things.

I'm pissed though. Toyo doesn't make my front tire size. The do however make a 240/45/18 which is the same overall diameter as the 225/45/18. So I guess I could make them work.

But they're a pain in the ass to find. most shops don't sell them.

225s in the front, 245s in the back.

Not much wider, but the difference is there.

Some people are running 245/40 F and 245/45 R and are having good results. It's important to keep the diameters the same as stock. VDC acts up otherwise.

It sort of sucks...

I can always have the tires removed and remounted on the other side if I'm trying to extend the life of the tires.

T1S:

235/40ZR18 95WRD

http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_specsheet.cfm?id=2
http://www.toyo.com/tires/index_frame.html

Use the "Find A Dealer" location to gather a list of dealers in your area and be prepared to find the widest range of prices you've ever seen for a product (well, maybe I'm wrong this week):

http://www.toyo.com/find_a_dealer/index_frame.html

Also, you can purchase them from some online venders:

For example (I just dug this up): http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineT...Toyo_T1-S.html

cant say much here, only know that my pilot sports don't have enough grip off the line, but they handle really well.
remember you will get a harsher ride and noise with max perf. tires, so if i were you i would also think about ride and noise to help choose. thats why i got the sports, they are quiet for the perf. they give. if i were to get a new set though, i would go with the S-03's because they shouldnt be too loud and they have nearly the most grip you wil get from a street tire.
however, if grip is the only focus, BFGOODRICH has some sticky ass stuff.
want something cheaper, AVS ES100 or RE750.

whichever set you get, report back!
good luck

What about the new Goodyears GS F1's. I've heard nothing but good reviews. They had scored better than the S03's. Dunno Check'em out

I wish someone would check them out. Consumer reports ranked them #1 with Toyo T1S #2.

They were give $50 rebates through 1/17/04.

The tires are made in Germany.

People who were driving M3s and who had previously had S-03, Michelin Pilots, and other tires loved the Goodyears, especially in the rain.

This is from Consumer Reports 11/03 (Note: they didn't make a distinction between max performance and ultra-high performance and they tested S-03, Pilot, Nero, Conti, etc):

"Ultra-high-performance tires

Best for most; a well-rounded choice:

Goodyear $135

Toyo $190

Both models offer the best blend of wet and dry performance. Paying more for the Toyo (20) buys you better handling."

Finally, they have an XL rated version in the 235/45-17 and some other sized that have a very FAT load rating and a great speed rating (No worries )
