I'm noticing weird things with my steering and I don't know if it's a problem or what's even causing it. (My car has stock tires & rims with 28.5K miles).

This just started last weekend....

Sometimes when I turn the wheel, the steering wheel turns *too* easily - like there's no resistance whatsoever - like the car is up on a lift and the wheels aren't in contact with the ground. The car's steering is not normally like this. Then it went away and now it came back tonight. I stood outside my car and turned the wheel and from what I could see on the driver's side, there's nothing wrong.

The tires are inflated properly. Any ideas what this might be? Is it a problem?

I'm almost due for the 30K service....anybody know what Sterling McCall in Houston gets for it? How about John Eagle?
