SSM 02-CL...Paint calipers Silver or Red?

I have an 02 CL-S that is Satin Silver Metallic with 5-spoke 3rd gen TL wheels. Should I paint the stock calipers Red or Silver? DO NOT SUGGEST BLACK...I've already ruled that out

thanks

Neither! You know well what color most people will say. Anything else does not look good.

Well I decided to go with red. Suprisingly my gf really wanted me to do red over silver.

I've done the front calipers so far with 5 coats of duplicolor brush on paint and think it looks really good. I basically decided it was my car and not to let other peoples opinions sway my judgement.

I'll post some pics up tonight either before I start my rears or after I'm done all together. Then the bashing may begin lol

/thread

The big problem with red is that it looks like knock off aftermarket parts....

It justs adds a little of the drivers personality to their ride. The only time I think it looks rice is if your car is rice. My car is all stock on the outside except for 3rd gen TL wheels and red calipers...I don't even have tint lol. I don't believe that is anywhere near rice. You could add that black calipers loko rice b/c they are just painted stock calipers

Rice or not, it's the fact that the CLS calipers are just fugly! I did black so they would blend in & not stand out.

^^^I understand that and was really wondering if I would even like them after I started painting them red. All calipers are ugly to me so red/black/silver/blue just adds a little better look depending on the cars color

Someone in my complex painted their front discs and rear drums on their Eclipse red. Now, talk about rice. They actually painted the whole drum red.

Well, I've paint drums black on my explorers. You cant see them behind the wheels, but they are good for protection from rust.

I'll post pics tomorrow of the rear and then the whole car with wheels on. I've got the front wheels on now and the calipers look awsome. I definately think five coats did the trick compared to some other painted red calipers I've seen.

BTW, that is paint on the rotor in the last pic lol. I got it off real easy with some brake cleaner though

I'm glad that you painted them red and didn't listen to the guys on here that seem to only like to tell people what they want to do is wrong, ugly whatever. I painted mine red and I like them, though my car is red also. As you can see in my pic I painted the mesh I used to fill the area under the bumper and got the same answers, looked tacking, should have painted it black, etc.
