SRT-4 v CL-S 6M

Greetings from AZ. I've been lurking since my buddy at work purchased a clean 03 CL-S 6-speed NAVI. His CL is San Remo Red (or Acura equivalent) and has a cat back exhaust and a K&N drop in. (any idea on how rare this combo is? 6-speed/NAVI/red)

He was trying to set up a race from a roll with another co-worker in his 04 Accord coupe EXV6 6M, so I followed to be witness. After they went a few times, I followed him to see what my 03 SRT-4 could do. We didn't have a lot of room and there was a little traffic so we only went once from about a 50 roll. I left it in 3rd, sounded like my buddy was in 2nd, right in VTEC. Long story short, I put about 1-2 cars on him by 85-90, then we shut down.

If we went from a dig, I think it would have been closer. (1st gear is next to useless with 250 lb-ft at the wheels) Thanks for letting me share at your forum, I know a high percentage of SRT guys are myopic idiots.

It looked close from where I was, but I'll find out when I get to work.

I have Mopar Stage 1 and a 3" turbo-back exhaust.

Nice kill. I see 3-4 modded SRT-4's at the drags every time I go. Usually very cool guys driving them. So far the only one to break into the 13's is a guy running slicks. He ran a 13.2@107. Not sure of his mods but DAMN! The other guys can't hook up from a dig.

It was too close to call between the CL-S and the EXV6 coupe... I'm guessing the better driver would win between these two cars.

It's very difficult to get a good launch at the track in these SRT's. You can get one, bone stock, in the 13's with Jesus behind the wheel. (I think the current "record" is 13.7)

Can anyone shed some light on production numbers of 03 CL-S 6-speeds?

There is a thread in teh FAQ forum with the estimated prod #'s for all color/navi combo 6 speeds. There were only about 3,000 6 speeds made, so they are def a more rare car.

I have a buddy who ran a 13.9 in a bone stock srt-4, and now ith the stage 2 is running like high 12's on slicks. He's a helluva driver tho. Its not surprising you pulled on his CL-S6, you make more whp & are much lighter. My 6 speed ran 14.5 @ 97mph bone stock, and 14.2 on dr's, so we need all the traction help that we can also. Our problem is weight & wheelhop, but once moving the CL-S6 stays pretty good with most newer sporty cars.

There must be some sick tail-winds in Michigan, cause I've never seen any stock CLS/TLS get into the low 14's, let alone even break out of the 15's......and I go to Atco and Englishtown, which are both fast tracks.

Wow, according to the FAQ, only 61 red NAVI 6-speeds made. I guess he got a pretty good deal at $18,750. (only 28K miles, extended warr.) Private party>Acura dealer.

Sounds like alot of bad drivers and no 6 speed's at your tracks. 14.5's are pretty normal for a well driven stock 6 speed CL-S.

Possibly.......or maybe it's the cool crisp air coming out of Canada sweeping across those Great Lakes.
