spruce up the cockpit

I haven't had my door panels off for stereo stuff yet. For anybody that has; Did you notice if the plastic fake wood inserts come out very easily and also if the center console and rear seat stuff comes out. My friend works at a really good body shop and told me he would paint a set for me. I think if I painted them the same color as the outside(sundance gold pearl), and it was done right, i.e. preped primed painted and clearcoated it would look tight. gimme da input.

I'll try to post some pics. I'm a complete computer dumbass and don't even have a camera for it yet. I wouldn't even know how to post them if I did have one. somehow it seems like every time I have a little money for a camera or something like that I either spend it on my car or pay off another goddamned speeding ticket.

By the way can you believe some little highschool drop-out honestly thought he could beat me in a '99 4X4 Ford Exploder. Said he had "duel exhaust and a chip". well, I'm sorry dude guess I'm outclassed huh?

Actually, I was curious so I gave it a try. I suck at photoshop though. I got the original picture from someone on the board but I dont remember who.

I've thought about this already. I wanted to paint it silver. But the door plastic doesn't come off. They will have to paint it with the plastic on and just cover up the leather parts. Very easy to do, but the rear is another story. They don't come off. They're stuck on with plastic fasteners that you'd have to break off and find something esle to keep them on after.

Unless you cover up everything in the back also, but I wouldn't risk painting it like that.

I heard Tim (snook) was coming up with some plastic inserts in carbon fiber and brushed aluminum, so I'd just wait for that because from the earlier posts is looks like simple stick on material.

I was thinking of painting the wood trim in my car either silver or gunmetal.

I think it would look nice. Better than the bowling ball trim.
