Sports Seats in a CL-S
I have an '01 CL-S with the sports seats. My only complaint I have about the car is the seats. Although I am not a particularly large person, I am not small either. I find that the wings on the sports seat is too narrow, it pushes against my ribs and it is VERY uncomfortable. I have experimented with minor fixes (cushions, etc. - blah) but am still not happy with the seat.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, how did you correct it? Thanks!

Duck Fuke!
I assume you are talking about the factory seats...........if so. you might be the first person to ever complain about them. They are some of the best seats in any car.

Hmm. Did you think about swapping out the two front seats w/ a CL-P? I would bet that if you looked around for a while, you might be able to find a wrecked CL-P or TL-P, and get your hands on those seats. I would imagine it would just be a simple swap once you had them. I love my CL-S's seats though, best seats I've ever sat in (in a car).

CLS seats are the best I have ever sat on as well........good level of comfort and support for lowerback and thighs.......but for a big person, I can see where the side bolsters would be a bit snug.

Im a pretty broad guy in the shoulders. And I prefer tight side bolstering. Very comfy imho. I think my 1st gen cl seats are very comfy cause they arent heavy on the side bolsters.
Ill swap you seat :P

Like someone posted above, CL-p seats might be in your interest. For shits and giggles, post a seat swap, CL-S for CL-P in the Blackmarket, and see what responses you get!!

The CLS seats are the most comfortable seats that I have sat in. Everyone who rides in my car always tells me this. It was the first thing I noticed when I first sat in the car. Now the seats in my friends STI have to be the most uncomfortable things I have ever sat in. My back was killing me within mins.

Steven R., I recommend you go see a couple custom Interior fabricators and see if they can cut the material out for you and restitch the bolters.

Steve R. Warren its unfortunate to hear you find the CL-S seats uncomfortable. The Cl-S fronts seats has been praised practically by everyone who sat in one. My only suggestion to you is wait a couple of months till the seats are broken in. I found that after like 6 months the seats molded to my body making the fit like a glove.
That is ofcourse if the car is new if not maybe you can do a pushup and situp every now and again

The idea about finding a wrecked CL-P probably has the best idea IMO.
Fortunately at 175lbs...I have no issues. I have been in the drivers seat for road trips over 7 or 8 hours and never had a problem. You deserve to find seats that you can do that in too. Good luck.

Th discomfort occurs over time, sitting in it for short periods of time os OK....its the longer trips that create the problem.
I'm at about 200 lbs but have a broad rib cage. If I was close to 300 lbs, there is no way I could even fit.
My interior is tan...but nice thought anyway!
