Speed limits in Maryland to be raised?

This Baltimore Sun article starts talking about raising speed limits but then backs down to the usual PC stance. Still worth a read.

"We don't play fair," McLhinney said. "People just can't be on the lookout for marked police cars. We'll have officers in Mustangs and Camaros and sitting in the back of construction vehicles [with a radar gun] or hiding behind a Jersey wall. We're going to do whatever it takes to get these people off the road, because they're costing too many innocent lives."
We have a real battle going on, on I95 between Bmore and Delaware. The law acting like Navy Seals or something and the drivers out using a little Horse power, not knowing where the next po-po is going to pop out from. Driving like moths to the flame

Yeah I hate driving that section of I95 going to NYC. Speed limit is like 55, then 65, the 55 again. People do 80 alot. I saw a red mustang pull someone over a few times. Laser gets used on that portion too.

Went to school in bmore, and came back to DC frequently. The only unmarked 2 door sportscars (camaros for the most part) I saw were insinde I-695 around the city, when the speed limit drops to 55.

On Route 70 last week I saw a 1992 Green Ford Explorer, tinted windows, and a blue strobe light on the dash pull over some guy for speeding. Guy got out and was a state trooper. Unbelieveable

Thanks for the warning on that section. Seems like we'll be moving towars that part of Maryland in a few months (exit 100) and we'll have to pay paticular attention.

DC is the worst by far. Freaking 295 and 395 are retarded. They go from 55 down to 35 in some sections (35 mph on a 3 lane highway). God I hate those roads.

And back to the story, love the crap about all the innocent lives. Right because speeders cause most of the accidents out there. Because a drunk person is speeding it is not the speed that is the problem. Of course the insurance industry etc indicate speed as the issue in accidents like that

They need to raise that shit!!!! Maybe after a lot of publicity they will. Just like when ch 15 or something did investigation about camera traffic light being less than 3 seconds on yellow ... they changed that right away (in Baltimore County)!!!!

I’m not sure but I think city traffic cameras don’t ticket people anymore...I’m not 100% on that.

They still ticket you on red light cameras, but only the fools actually pay the fine. Appear in court if you get the ticket in Baltimore city and the judge will automatically throw the ticket out. I'm sure other towns nearby are doing the same thing... because they are getting eaten alive on the accuracy of the cameras.
