Spark Plug/Wire Upgrade

Hey everyone,

Has anyone upgraded their OEM spark plugs and wires to, say, Nology wires and an iridium-type spark plug? I would appreciate any thoughts and recommendations anyone may have, as I am considering a purchase to improve performance. THANKS.

Hello RCHAVIS:

I purchased a 2001 CLS and, to be honest, I don't know much about performance upgrades. I know that premium spark plugs are a decent, not-to-expensive item to upgrade but I know very little else (i.e., wires, etc.). Perhaps you would be willing to let me know. I'd appreciate it. THANKS.

Hello CL FWD SPEED,

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. If I could ask another quick question, is it possible or would it be of any benefit to upgrade to aftermarket ignition coils. Just looking for a few quick, beneficial upgrades. What do you think? THANKS...

There aren't any made for this car. Besides ignition coils like this car uses give more then enough spark.

When you get the wires, get some replacement "blinker fluid" too!
