Sound level with Comptech headers

Does the sound level change any after adding the Comptech headers? I hate to experiment with a $1K set of headers only to find out that they make the car a lot louder than I want. Has everyone used the Comptech mufflers too?
Thanks!

Not to worry!

Installed properly, the headers will produce no noticeable change in current engine/exhaust noise. What you will notice, however, is that your car will accelerate much more freely between 5500 - 7000 rpm. Simply put, it pulls harder because it's in this range where the significant horsepower gains are to be had.

My suggestion is to have them installed with fresh gaskets, and if you're going to do it yourself, get a good torque wrench and adapters to get into the tight places. Once your headers are installed, drive NORMALLY for a few days before testing them out. After about a week of driving, re-torque the headers to the exhaust manifold (23 ft-lbs) and you're good to go.

Sound Investment!

Earlier today I went for a ride in the 3.5 liter CL at Rick Case with headers and it's exhaust note wasn't much different from a stock 3.2 CL's.

Yes, I think the headers help out in gas mileage, about 3 or 4 more mpg from my exp

I heard the Comptech Headers & Mufflers on a TL-S at the NJ MEET 2-weeks ago and it sounded SWEET.
2000 BUCKS worth of SWEET……..I don’t know.

Eclipse went for a ride in that same car the other day and I’m sure he’ll chime in here.

Did you think the re-torque is MUST DO?

When you (or whoever) did the re-torque, did you actually see/feel any loose hardware.

I was going to have mine installed next week WITH new gaskets, so I was curious...
