Sorry, yet another newbie question....

What is the difference between a cai and a short ram system? I have an 03 6-speed, and finally found out that aem makes both systems for our car...but what is the diff?

short ram=air filter on short ext tube from throttle body, cai is longer tube which reaches through hole below air box towards front of car which picks up cold air instead of heated engine compartment air short ram picks up. Still shourt ram would pick up a few horses due to the lack of bottleneck that stock box has.

Better idea is to put the actual question as the subject rather than "Newbie whatever". Gives people an idea if they can help without actually having to open up the message. YMMV

Thanks for all the good information. I think I'm gonna go with the cai.
