fuk it...

How do you clear the lights?

First: remove your bumper:
first remove the plastic cover located on top of your bumper held up butr alot of small plastic things you jsut pop off with a flathead, then under that there are 3 screws
Then you have to get 2 screws connecting the bumper from the side of the cars, located near the wheel
Then there are many random screws, nuts and plastic pins holding the bumper in palce at the bottom of the car, just take alook and its all self explanatory

You also need to take off the plastic piece on the top of the engine bay all held by clips
Then just take off the actual bumper.. it's made of urethane so it can bend a little...don't worry just slowly force it out and remember to unplug the roadlamp lights out of the housing
There are four screws holding each headlight assembly on on both sides
take a heat gun, or blowdryer to melt the silicon on the edges of the headlights. heat for about 5 minutes.
Start with the rounded part of the headlight.
Pry it apart using a stick (like a flathead screw driver). Don't go to deep or you'll scratch the chrome.
Once you break through keep a wedge in there or even the handle of another screwdriver.
Heat well and keep separating.
Remove the chrome piece - be careful about fingerprints.
You might want to wait 10 minutes or so to let the silicone cool.
Getting hot silicone on the chrome will strip the chrome paint.
Remove the orange strip
Strip off the old silicon to insure a tight seal. It is like removing really hard chewing gum.
Put new silicon caulk on. It comes in a tube, and should be availiable at any hardware store. You should use heat resistant silicon (especially in really hot states)
Someone has had success with silicone 2 by GE.

Make sure its all sealed up and then put everything back together.
It is suggested to check the seals by duct taping the holes on the headlights, taking the headlights into a bathroom, cranking up the steam, and then checking to see if any steam gets into your headlights.
Make sure cleared lights are legal - some states require orange turn indicators

actually scooter.

thats not how its done.

thats how it is done if you went to spend all year doing it, you want them to fog up, and you want to have them look like SHIT covered in silicone afterwards.

heh

but good try

here...

Removing Bumper
1. Remove screw in front of each front tire.
2. Remove plastic pins from the underside of bumper.
3. Remover 10MM Bolts from underside of bumper.
4. Remove plastic clips on top of bumper.
5. Remove screws on top of bumper.
6. Unplug foglights.
7. Remove bumper.

Removing Headlights
1. Remove Bumper
2. Remove bolts from the side of the headlight housing.
3. Remove two bolts under the headlight housings.
4. Unplug connections.
5. Remove headlights.

Clear Lights
1. Remove Headlights
2. Place headlights on a wet towel inside of an oven. Heat oven to 225 degrees. (Do not preheat)
3. After 20-25 minutes remove headlights from oven.
4. Seperate headlights by hand starting from the inner corner.
5. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Using a razor, trim excess silicone from the inside of the lens cover. Do not remove silicone from the black portion of the housing where the sealant channel is, you will be reusing it.
6. Remove thw two screws that hold the chrome housing to the lens cover.
7. You may now pop out the amber reflector by pushing a CLEAN screwdriver or any utensil for that matter through the hole fpr the parking light.
8. Reattach the chrome portion of the housing to the clear lens.
9. Place lens and black housing back in the oven at 225 degrees for 10 minutes. Do not reassemble yet.
10. After the stock sealent has softened remove both pieces from the oven.
11. Add a small, fresh bead of silicon to the sealant channel on the black portion of the headlight housing.
12. Beginning from the outer side of the headlight, reattach the lens portion of the housing to the black portion.
14. Tighten lens to the black housing in each corner using bar clamps.
15. Allow 24 hours for silicone to cure.
16. Cover holes with duct tape. Test for leaks in steamy bathroom.
17. Put back on car.

I recommend GE Silicone II Window/Door, do not get clear, as it isnt clear. Get the black stuff so it will match the housing.

This sounds incredibly easy eh? It isnt hard... but it is more time consuming then it sounds. Do not try this on your own unless you are prepared to fuck up and buy new lights... it is extremely easy to ruin your housing while doing this, especially the chrome reflector which is ridiculously sensitive.

God speed!
