something smells fishy!!!!( 6MT)
well,it's slow so this shouldnt hurt to bad.but, is it me or is anyone else concider it strange that there has not been to my knowldge one commercial, one add in a magazine or an update to the acura.com web site on the 03 cl-s 6 mt...????it's 4 weeks away from being on dealers lots....so far a couple magazines report driving it,but where are the official numbers from acura them selves????price power options,i dont count honda digital news room BTW....
I think it's because it hasn't "officially" been released by Acura yet. This was the same with the '01 CL-S. We knew about it in Jan... but they didn't start advertising it until the official release date in March sometime. The ones the magazines have been driving have probably been writing about them in their "preview" sections. Acura isn't as smart as Toyota is. The Matrix and the Camry had commercials weeks, possibly more, in advance of their releases, but Acura doesn't do that. The day that the car hits the lots you'll see the info on their site, then start seeing advertisements.....
I remember I was out in California in March of 2000.
On the 31st (release day) I was reading the Wall Street Journal in the Hotel and I flipped to a TWO PAGE AD for the 01 CL.
It was a HUGE ad with both sides of the paper zoomed up to the front of the car.
I already had all of the specs for the car and was pretty sure about buying one, but let’s just say that shortly after I returned home the Legend Coupe went up for sale.
Acura could really do a great job in the ad’s comparing to the 3-series, Lexus and others, but who knows if they’ll have the BALLS to pull it off.
Probably just some more fuddy-duddy ad’s about driving to Boston for chowder.
They don’t want to criticize the slushbox too much because it still makes up the bulk of their sales.

Also, they don't want to do anything to hurt 02 5AT sales. If they can get a few more people like Shawn and me to buy 5ATs without knowing about the 6 speed, so much the better for Acura.
I'll tell you what smells fishy---it's the decaying flesh of what Acura calls marketing people as they rot in their offices!!!
In all honesty, I stumbled across the CL accidentally when I just happened to go onto Acura's website. I'd never seen nor heard a SINGLE word about this car prior to this. And personally, I think I'm glad it happened this way because once I started seeing the crappy ads for the CL I wondered if I had bought the right car since it seemed to be marketed toward the post-children couple going out for a Sunday drive.
Yet, once the new RSX came out it had tons more advertising and actually some decent commercials as well. Maybe if more people knew about the CL instead of just stumbling over it they might sell a few more of them!

they could at least ........
...... provide some more info to dealers as to MSRP and delivery dates for those folks who are truly interested in the 6-MT -- this wouldn't cannibilize 2002 sales, but it would help the people who are trying to buy this car.
C'mon Acura -- let's get at least SOME more info out there.
And, to echo an earlier post -- anyone heard anything more solid about delivery dates from their dealer? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
