Some sway questions

I had the "misfortune" of test driving a car with CT sways and now realize that it is an upgrade I cannot live without!

But I have some questions:

1. Can I upgrading the stock bushings to polyurethane and get some handling improvements?

2. Is the CT front stiffer than stock? Will upgrading just the rear give me 90% of the benefit for 50% of the cost?

3. Is the Neuspeed 19mm rear any stiffer than stock?

4. Is Eibach ready yet?

5. Is there any other mod that will achieve the same result for a lower price? (strut bars etc.)

Thanks!

About the Poly bushings, Energy Suspension does not make a kit for our cars, but it can be done. I am looking into getting a set of sways for my CLS. I am having my shop look, see, and measure the types and sizes of stock pbushings that I already have on, to replace with Poly ones.

Sry it won't be anytime soon, but most definatly before the end of this month. I am shooting for the middle of the month. Work is killing me.

CT sways are probably the best upgrade and recommended front and rear ! Then new rubber, then headers. I'm not sold on the loud AEM stuff........

I've done poly bushings with stock bars on two other cars and there is a difference with response. Turn-in is quicker but once you get to the limit, there isnt much more grip. I've also added a rear sway bar to an S-15 sport truck I used to own. I was worried about it getting loose with no weight in back but it never did. It didnt affect initial turn in, but at the limit cornering was better. Remember that sways like comptech are designed with a particular chassis balance in mind. The front and rear suspensions work independently and stiffening one without the other changes this balance. In theory with just a bigger rear sway, the car could want to oversteer when pressed deep into a corner. Since so much understeer is dialed into the car in the first place this may not be the case though. You would probably need to describe more about what your looking for in the feel of the car. The term "handling" describes so many variables and everyone preceives it differently.

Yes! I know this first hand. But someone has mentioned a bushing upgrade. I wonder how much chassis increased stiffness you would feel?

If stock is 0 and Comptech sways are 100%, would it be 10%? 40%?

I am also interested in this mod. I cannot belive however that there is not some small degradation in ride comfort. Is there? What is it.?

Well, losing elasticity and body roll may be considered uncomfortable because you lose that spongy side to side feeling.

Also, for some reason, the car and steering "feels" heavier but that felt more like a feeling of solidness as opposed to discomfort.

Let's put it this way. The discomfort of a spring upgrade over bumps is probably more noticeable (but even that is fairly minor).

The end product is still more comfortable than a stock BMW IMO.
