Some Questions

Someone I know is looking for an '01 - '03 CL-S; for the '03 model year, they prefer the 6-speed manual over the 5-speed AT (like the one in the '01 and '02). Now don't laugh, but they're looking for one with 35K miles or less. They're willing to put up an '01 Accord V6 with less than 30K miles to make an even trade (and add some money depending on the CL-S's model year, mileage, etc.)
I figured this is a good source since people on here treat their cars well.

On a separate issue, if you have a CL, is it difficult to convert a CL to a CL-S? I read that the essential difference between the two versions, to get the added 35 HP, is: 1) higher volume intake system (TB?, Intake Manifold? what else?), 2) less restrictive exhaust (mufflers?, pipes? headers? what else?), and 3) higher compression ratio (10.5:1 vs. 9.8:1), and 4) Higher RPM level. What parts are required to get these added HPs?

Let me know on both. Thanks!

Well I think I can answer this part pretty easily... get a CL-S to start with. On the used car market it'd be much more efficient to get a CLS to begin with rather than a base CL and trying to upgrade performance on it. I guess I'm kinda saying is why buy a base CL and add performance to reach the equivalent of a stock CL-S? Also, If you've done your homework, us AT people wish we got a 6-spd to begin with too but thats a different story.

I hear what you're saying. I figured I'd find out just in case they can't find a low-mileage CL-S. On the tranny aspect, they'd take the AT and can then do the swap to the MT. It's unfortunate they waited til '03 to add the 6spd MT; then again, the same thing happened the same year with the Accord V6s.

Now if someone on here who has (or knows somebody that has) a LOW mileage 2nd Gen CL-S in, near, or a few hours outside of NYC that would be sweet.

Tough trade in terms of finding, for example, an 01 CL-S with less than 35K or 40K miles?
