first of all, she cannot afford a 20k+ car, i mean she could but she got other shit to pay. for 14K... i think that s the best choice between corolla LE and CIVIC DX..
she is a girl and she is NOT A RACER. how fast do u want her to go? besides i just taught her how to drive stick 3 weeks ago... and u want her to buy something that has 300HP to learn how to drive stick?
and yes she is an asian

make sure she tints it well so nobody will know who's driving it.

I saw both of teh Scions at the Seattle auto show and was very impressed. They have Toyota build quality, and I am expecting reliability as well. They were both comfortable to sit in, however I liked the Xb better than the Xa. If I were looking for an inexpensive ride that had good quality I would definitely check the out. Also they have very nice stock stereo systems. In addition I have heard that there is a supercharger available for the Scion engines which gives a nice power boost.

Also the Scion should have an ad "a face only Japanese could love" cuz that is one ugly fucking vehicle, but if she's oonowindoo's gf it's probably all hooked up and might actually be interesting to see.
