Some pix of my detailer's new shop and clients

he moved out of Port Washington to a much larger spot in Mineola right off Jericho Tpke.

he's also expanded his business...a website prolly coming within weeks, and he's got his own line of waxes/polishes he promises is better than Zaino (thinking about being a test subject and splitting my car in half to see how well it works)

pix...

here's his FX45 with 20's...drove it around the block a couple times...ride is HARSH as hell over rough roads, but still felt great at the same time...exhaust is addicting at idle...now i know why Adam likes it so much

to have exterior only, using my Zaino, i usually dish out a couple bucks

use his stuff, however, and it'll be about 3 bucks

these prices aren't including tip

services include wash, compound (multi-step), rewash (if necessary), polish/wax car and rims, dress the tires

if you want interior pricing, i'll find out

Scooter.. just curious.... how far is that shop from say... White Plains? I'm looking for a good detailer for after they clean the salt off the roads in the spring.... and there really aren't many up by me.

Scooter,
I can’t understand the logic of paying someone to detail your car when it’s so easy to get awesome results with Zaino on your own.
And then you turn around and let your car parked outside on the street in the elements.

Should I multiply the given prices by 100?

well here's my situation...

#1, i don't have the tools, the products, and the know how he has to detail the car the way it ought to be (for ex, i could just use 3M swirl remover which is a mild abrasive at best with a machine that i don't know how to use properly, or i could let him use not one but 3 levels of abrasive compounds to get the swirls out better with less risk to stripping the clearcoat off with a machine he knows how to use)

#2, at my request, he uses my Zaino supply...you can make the argument Zaino's supposed to be applied by hand only, but that's crap...machines put it on just as good, if not, better

and #3, i have no choice but to park my car outside in the elements...my car's always been outside...it's never seen a garage evar unfortunately...so as the car gets older, i think it's a worthwhile investment once a year, and then i maintain as best i can with the tools i have

but that's just me

Lou: workin on it

Spdy: around $300 give or take some for his stuff including all the work

I remember your old thread when you took your car to his shop in Port Washington. This new one looks a lot bigger and nicer. I'll definitely be keeping him in mind come the spring.

Also did he get the full tech packages on his FX?
