Solara vs. CL type-s

I wonder if a Toyota Solara 2005 SLE with the 3.3L VVTi v6 motor with 225hp and 240ft lbs of torque can smoke a CL Type-S with 260hp and 232ft lbs of torque. Any opinions?

I would doubt it. It would still lose to a 5A, and I'm pretty sure a 6MT CL-S would tear up the solara.

I have driven the Solara and there would be no contest. It would get spanked by the CL-S.

Dude you could prob hang with the manual 05 Solara in your CL-P, you'd walk an auto. They are teh slow without TRD butting in.

The TRD supercharger for the Solara isn't even that impressive.

My uncle wants me to trade in my car but the thing is he'll only chip in if the next car i get is auto. I want a manual so bad but he won't let me because of the fact he doesn't like manual.

You have many more options than a Solara if you want an auto, don't lower yourself by getting rid of your CL-S

Come to think of it, I've NEVER seen a guy driving a Solara. Then again, I think the majority of Toyota/Lexus buyers are women.

As far as this thread, the new Solara powertrain is the best it's ever had. That said, the CL-S would waste it ridiculously.

Possibly..... AFAIK, they only run mid-low 7 0-60 times: well within CL-P range and measurably slower than the CL-S 5AT.
