sohc 2.3 vs 5.0 gt vs turbo probe gt
Last night I was at the speed shop filling my bottle and re tuning my msd box, when these two retards at the shop where talking all sorts of shit on imports the regular bull you here from those retards. So the guy with the mustang asked If I wanted to race so of course I was all ready pissed and said yes. When I looked at both the cars the mustang had nothing besides exhaust, intake and it was automatic. The probe on the other hand, had i/h/e msd system with a turbo decent size. This was the 1st time I have actually raced both of these cars so we went to a secluded 1/4 mile strip that we test the cars when they leave the shop. Off the dig the probe and the mustang had me by half a car as soon as i the nitrous kicked I pulled on both of them but towards the end the probe was just to fast. I lost to the probe by little less than a car and a half but at least I dusted the mustang after he was talking all that shit .

the probe was fast I gave the dude some props, and they where both pretty suprise that a sohc 4 cylinder that's automatic had that much balls. So i guess it's 1st gen-1
domestic-1
next month I am going to run the probe again and get a video of it. After I do my tranny swap and get my new manifold. So I guess we will see if I catch him then.
What do you think? or not?

ok lets see a 2.3L bottle of soda with vtec makes what from factory? 150? so lets say you put 130 to the wheels,( thats giving you alot considering your car maybe 8-10 years old), and you have a nitrious shot of what maybe a 75 shot (which is a flywheel number might i add so lets say you your putting down 175 to the wheels, there is no way in hell you will beat a mustang which makes above 200 with exhuast and an intake.

At the beginning of the race the 5.0 will pull b/c of rear wheel drive, but with HIS setup which he has head and blockwork done, and nitrous among other numerous mods, the 5.0 with only intake and exhaust will not be able to catch up after the nitrous hits. I have a friend with a 5.0 mustang that has fresh motorwork and plenty of mods and its a freaking beast. He also owns an SRT-4 with mods and it can take on his SRT-4 with no forced induction, so i know the 5.0 plenty of potential. But i doubt the one that he raced had any work besides the intake and exhaust, thus getting his ass handed to him by a meticulously maintained 4 cylinder. Think about that!

HIS setup which he has head and blockwork done, and nitrous among other numerous mods + the old 5.0 with only intake and exhaust thats probably been thrashed = THE MUSTANG LOST, and will probably keep losing to him if he doesnt change anything a/b his car

Billy goat, billy goat...anyone see what I'm getting at?
2.2 is 145hp I believe. When I went and dyno'd my CLs (200whp stock), the dyno guy had a mustang and said his 5.0 put down about 185 stock IIRC (with more torque of course). This CL should put at least 200whp spraying, I wouldn't doubt the outcome. As for the probe, turbo + anything FTW

Man, you keep trying to raise the BS flag everywhere you go. It IS very possible that he beat that 5.0. I know my car is much different than the OPs, but I raced one once and it was like he was just standing still, my TL-S left him wayyy back in the dust....

The mustang is auto...The 185whp was for a manual 5.0 BTW, so AT should be slightly less.
Damn Mustang 1993 5.0 auto only weighs 2800 pounds, 2.3 1999 CL weighs 3100 pounds.
2.2L F22B DOHC non vtec (Japan 92-96 Prelude Si) and 2.3L H23A1 DOHC non vtec (US prelude Si) are 160hp.

Apparently the DOHC in these two engines compared to SOHC in the CL makes up for lack of VTEC.
F20B was a DOHC vtec engine (98-02 Accord SiR non US) that was basically a destroked H22A4. Just droppin' some info
