I always go with Honda ATF-Z1 fluid. Unless you've got the discount with Amsoil, it's not worth the money.

I gave up my Amsoil membership and now just wait till Autozone or Advance run specials on Mobil1 and stock up. :endrant:

drain the fluid until it stops coming out, about 3 quarts will come out. then fill it with 3 quarts, drive the car so it reaches all gears, about 5-10min rides, and do that 2 more times. so total of 3 times drain and 3times fill

surprising, normally acura dealers want to rip you a new one just because of the name even though it has honda on the box/bottle (every luxery brand of car seems to do that)

im a little surprised too. if you look at the part numbers for coolant, tranny, power steering and ATF, the honda and acura bottles differ by adding an A at the end of the number to designate acura labeling.

Amzoil Universal ATF. If you're running a tranny cooler, disconnect one of the lines and pump the fluid into a bucket until it is clear. 10 qts and I usually get good fluid. You'll find the tranny providing much more consistent shifts hot or cold. Synthetics are much more stable.

Amsoil meets Z-1 specs. It's not magic.

but i also know that when the previous owner had my car (worked on it since ~40k now has 102k, records back to 7k) we had flush it with vavloline max life full synthetic atf (for the 90k) it puked it itself dry at 93k out of the dipstick (no other leaks have ever devoloped for then) the only thing that we can put down to is bad/not meeting spec fluid but vavloline says it meets honda spec. so we filled it again and then flushed it with honda atf and no problems for the last 9k other then being able to feel a couple of shifts a little (english and spelling are not my best subject) and it has been flushed per honda specs at 60k and 90k (honda does not say to flush it at 30k)
