So i burned my 6mt CLS clutch..

I dunno how i did it... lets just say i was wasted and dont remember much... just bits and pieces of it. Well i remember going somewhere in the car and telling my friend that i think i burned my clutch... i woke up in my living room on the floor the next day... thought it was all a dream... well the bits and pieces i remember. I got in the car turned it on everything is fine cept for the burned smell. then i put her into gear the clutch is hard to press down.. i start going it pulls then quits... then i try again it just sits there and revs now. does anyone know if the dealer can tell that i burned it or will it be covered under warranty.. the car has 25k miles on it now. if not how much you guys think its gonna cost for them to fix it? would it be cheaper to go with the comptech flywheel/clutch upgrade?

From what I've read here, the CL-S clutch is one part where stock > CT. Just get it replaced.

Don't drink and drive.

The clutch is a "wear & tear" item. I think you'll have a hard time convincing the dealer to replace it under warranty, especially with a modded car. Good luck, though.

Since you don't remember anything, are you sure a small child isn't stuck up under the car??

Seriously, not a bright decision!!!

Anyway, expect $1000+ for this repair.

You will be responsible for it and rightfully so. It is your car, you damaged it and should be held accountable. There cannot and should not be a warranty claim here. Just suck it up and pay to get it fixed.

Right, but your dealer will see this and think "this guy drives fast and/or hard", and laugh when you want to claim warranty.

I won't go through the ethics of what was done or not done.
If the dealer replaces it they will know it's been burned by the condition of the pieces. I wouldn't use the dealer for this. I'd get a tranny shop to replace the clutch. Save yourself alot of $$. By the parts yourself too.

if the clutch failed because of a defect... you wont have to pay for it...

but you probably were too drunk to remember if it failed or if you were driving with your foot halfway on it during the whole night of your shananagins...

98% of the times you have to pay...

My acura dealer replaced my clutch at 8000 miles, but i think mine was defective, especially since i've been driving stick for years, and never burnt a clutch that fast

Sup Kevin. Sorry to hear about the clutch. Everyone else has ripped you about driving while drunk so we won't even go there. Glad you got home in one piece and no one got hurt. I know this place on Wilcrest and Harwin behind the Shell gas station that does good work on trannies. I can get the number and you can get a quote.

Even if they did, which I doubt they will, is that the right thing?? He obviously did something wrong and it is his responsibility. It suxs, but that is part of life where we must deal with our own mistakes.

If you get the dealer to fix it won't they "log" that to the car and driver? And can't they hold that against you in the future?

John Eagle Acura.. the same place i bought my car from.. the same place that will do all mod installs once i get around to it. They are pretty mod friendly.

handlebar aka bupar aka zanex its supposed to relax you and make you sleep.. but if you stay up or drink alcohol with it... it makes you forget stuff, just 1 beer($5 at the club) or 1 shot ($7 at the club) and a handlebar(2 for $5) and your set for the night... i dont recommend taking 2 tho... i know im not gonna do it anymore. just beer or shots from now on.

I've taken migraine medicine and was drinking beer after beer following by shots of tequila, I never drove home, and I am sure I wouldn't have remembered it if I did.

As a medical professional I have to tell you guys, don't fuk w/ liquor and any medication. You're gonna run the risk of fuking up your liver or kidneys. Worst yet, you can die because of respiratory failure or cardiac complications. For example...... Xanax already has the potential to cause low blood pressure, increased heartrate and palpitations. Just be careful guys.
