So. Cal....Best place for an Automatic Transmission Rebuild??
Hi there-
In my previous post I was stating how I'm a new owner of a 2001 Acura CL type S.
I LOVE IT! It's an automatic and the motor is so strong. What sucks is the transmission, it slips SO BAD going from 3rd to 4th.
I live in Southern Orange county and i was hoping someone could guide me to the best place for a transmission rebuild?
I've read about the recalls and something about re routing oil to gears that get really hot, im not sure if thats my issue, but the vehicle has almost 163k miles.
Any words of wisdom would truly help me out at this point...the transmission seems to be the biggest issue with my vehicle.

When it says it ONLY fits the 01-03 TL....is that the same as my 01 CL?

All the information needed for this swap, to extend the useful life of your 2001 CL-S, with an updated 06-07 Accord V6 (non-hybrid) is there:
Just got my 2001 Acura CL-S back from my friends shop after swapping the tranny out with a 2007 Accord V6 tranny and so far after one day of driving everything seems to be functioning great. Drove her up to 90 MPH for work and run errands with no issues. Shifts smooth and I am VERY pleased. About to take pics and get her ready to be sold to the next owner.
