So am I getting Bang for $
I work with sound in the movie industry so I am quite particular when buying drivers and amps... With this basslink, what frequency responce would I get and would it be worth the money and hassle to install or should I wait and put time and love into purchasing quality [JL audio] drivers and quality [RockFosgate] amps and doing my ride right?

If your looking for a pounding crystal clear SQ sound - Go with a custom setup...If you want your stock system's bass enhanced a bit at a value price - Go with the Basslink

The Basslink is only going to give you SLIGHTLY more BASS then the stock system.
If you’re any kind of audiophile you’re going to want a dedicated box w/ some real power driving it.

take it from somebody who has had both setups in two different cl-s auto and 6 spd.
The basslink can be bought for less than $200 on ebay with remote. The basslink will give the supplemental lower frequencies that the stock 6 x 9 are not tuned to play. It will not shake your car but you will feel it through your seat which to me is enough. Another great thing about the Basslink is it will not distort no matter how loud you play it.
Custom setups not only cost much more but require pretty much replacing all the factory stuf. That means no more steering wheel volume control and if you have Navi. no more voice directing. If you go with 12" subs and 2 amps or even a single amp the weight alone will give your car a sagging ass meaning it will lower in the back than in the front. Looking back at both of my setups I would of loved my auto cl-s with Navi and the Basslink with dynamatted rear deck to avoid any rattles. It is one of the best stock system setup Ive heard and with the stock 6 CD changer you cant go wrong.
Good luck

All my wheel controls, factory deck and NAVI voice are still functioning.
Of course it’s not gonna sound as good as a 10,000 dollar A/V system, but I have less then a grand in my setup and I can remove the box if I need more trunk space.

I have the basslink too. It's enough bass for the stock setup. It won't rattle windows, & you won't be heard coming down the street. I had systems like that in the past, & I'm sick of them. I also wanted a trunk in this car. The Basslink takes up so little space, I can still get a ton of luggage, or whatever in the trunk.

i had a basslink in my CL-S and id definatley describe the level of bass it adds as more than just "slight". while its not going to boom like a 500 watt 12" or anything, for what it is, its outstanding. and its easy to install.
one thing to take note of is that the amount of response you get out of a basslink is VERY dependant on the position in the trunk and where you keep the gain and crossover and bassboost. i had all 3 nearly ALL the way maxed at all times and never had a problem with it crackling or distorting, and it never blew out either, at near-max settings, the basslink proves its worth the price. additionally, turn down the bass on the factory deck nearly ALL the way and your interior speakers will sound ALOT better at full volume, no distortion whatsoever. id definately reccomend a basslink for anyone on a budget, anyone concerned about racing who doesnt want added weight in the trunk, or someone who wants some "oomf" out of the stereo system without going crazy

it is all one peice, one package, includes everyting you need besides the wiring. (standard amp wiring kit needed...10 gauge wires are fine, this amp is NOT very high powered, no need for 8 gauge or anything larger than that.)

One thing if you do in fact go for the Basslink I suggest getting the clear one. It looks so much better with the see through plastic instead of the plain old black one. I was thinking about getting it in my Benz but unfortunately I will need a lot more bass in order to feel it in the cabin.
