Why did you need to get a custom one made when CSF has them stocked in house?

The all aluminum one is part number 2653.

Gotcha.

With an increase in the thickness of the radiator you won't be able to run a supercharger which IMO is really the only reason why a modification like this is needed.

But it sure does look nice. Hope the install goes easy for you.

This mod, along with his other cooling mods is definitely worthwhile if he plans on tracking the car. I seldom take my car to the 1/4 mile anymore, but I occasionally autocross on the weekends and the cooling mods mos def help with heatsoak. I did it, not so much for the extra power, but for engine longevity while autocrossing. Plus, like you said, it looks pretty bad ass.

I thought that you could still run a supercharger as long as you had the top hose neck modified to be turned 90º or so?

that is correct.

and btw, i just finished installing the radiator. drained out all the coolant, including what's left in the block. was pretty straightforward but ran into a few issues. looks pretty bad ass under the hood. as for the radiator, there was a small leak due to bad hand welding. got that fixed with some instant steel. i'll get some pics up later on today.

the fans are running a lot less often, so i guess the new radiator is doing its job. when i pop the hood, there isn't that rush of heat jumping at my face like before. also, the transmission seems to be shifting more smoothly, not sure if the radiator contributed to that. maybe it's just a mental thing.
