Snow!!!!
i live in olathe kansas. we recieved around 5-7 inches of snow this early morning. i found myself traveling the snow piles in the CLS. not too bad, but not too fun. seemed to grip well after starting in 2nd gear. however traffic prohibited me from drifting. anyone have any good stories of snow incounters.

Have a good ice one for you. 2 winters ago I was heading to work and there was so much ice that the car in front of me hit the brakes and went sliding like a hockey puck into a parked car, the car infront of him and a parked truck. No injuries, but the car was fawked. Dents and broken glass all over. I hit the brake as well and went sliding too. Luckily I just bumped into a parked car with my bumper. I had just painted my Maxima. Turned around and went back home.

It snowed a bit last night where I live. Actually ... it rained, turned to ice pellets (of course I was going to a bar when the ice pellets was hitting my FACE!) then turned to snow. Drive was fine -- have my Nokian tires on ... not much collected on the ground.
Waiting to see how my investment holds up!

I was just wondering about how my CL would be in the snow. This is the first winter I've had it. I travel alot so I'm assuming it would probably be better to get tires more equipt for this kind of weather.

snows
I have had Blizzak LM 22's on my Wife's CL for the past two winters.
She is very happy with them.
I have gotten good milage out of them, better than I expected.
I am going with Dunlop Graspic DS-2's for my G 35 Coupe.
Supposed to be a better snow tire.
Recomended by Tire Rack.

I put Blizzaks on last winter and was very happy with the grip. I wondered if the limited slip diff make a difference or just the weight distribution of the CLS.

I went up to Vermont in March when I first got the car and it had 19 inch Toyo FZ4's on it at the time. It did not slip at all. I think the car just handles the snow better than other cars. I have stocks on there now, but I'm probably going to get Blizzaks for next winter, just to be on the safe side.

My 2001 CLS with Sumitomo HTR+ all seasons did fine in the snow and the traction control also helped.
But last winter my '03 six speed with the stock tires really sucked. You better try to start out in second and really feather the gas pedal. Once the car gets rolling it is okay though.
I would get some snow tires, but my wife has a Lexus RX330 that is available.
Good luck and stay safe!
