I try not to be hard on the shift points. Most of my milage is on the highway and the hardest I get would be WOT kickdown at 65-75 mph. It shifts firm on the kickdown, and by the time it needs to shift again, I'm going way too fast and need to let off the gas anyways. 
And of course the tranny cooler is supposed to help keep it together,.... acording to Comptech.
