Ok, i have a 01 CLS, i haven't noticed any transmission or engine problems that i can feel at least...but for some reason when i gun it, I smell this odd smell, its not really a burning smell but defenitly has a distinct smell..You guys have any ideas on what it could be..?

Do you have the AC on at the time? If so the AC shuts off at WOT & warm air rushes in & creates this smell. I have had a few cars like this.

I've had that happen to me when I'm gunning it on the highway. I think it might be the engine giving off heat and vapors.

None of the times did i have the AC on, it just seems odd, but it seems torun and sound fine, so i dunno..

Seriously though, Whenever Blades and I are playing cops and robbers around the city, and I gun it, he always complains about the god awful smell my exausts put out, I guess that could be what you are smelling ?

I'd say unless he's got hoses hooked up to his exhaust and is running them into his window...it'd be pretty hard to smell

well it may be getting in if he has the windows down, or outside vent (NO A/C on), but I have never smelled it in my car, only been told about it. I guess it may be possible to have a slight exhaust leak perhaps, but I really don't know. As long as it only happens under WOT, I really wiouldn't worry about it. If it starts happening more often at NON WOT, then I would have it checked.

i get the same thing. only happens when i go WOT. since my car is running fine and i never smell it any other time im just assuming its not a problem. next time you have it in for service i bet acura would be able to tell you what it is.

could you compare the smell to anything?? burning oil, ovheated brakes, an asshole after tacobell....
